Hey all, If possible, I want to learn to shift from sleeppatterns: One, almost always possible is the 22:00 to 23:00 bedtime to 5:00 wake time. I think I have to flex this pattern a bit to 5:30 or so cause for a period I was quite tired. It was quite stable, but these are still long days for me. And the other I like is the 'Every man' schedule. The uberman is not realistic possible for me. But the 'Every man' is. Schedule: 0:30 - 3:30 core sleep, 8:00, 12:30, 20:00 naps. My question is, is it just training to go a pattern of: Mon: Every Man Tue: Every Man Wed: Every Man Thu: Every Man Fri: Steve Pavlina (SP) pattern (From 12:00 - 22:00 I want to be available for work) Sat: SP pattern Sun: SP pattern Or I am I just jojoing then.. and achieve nothing?? Update: It sounds quite good to vary coresleep and number of naps. e.g. extending coresleep to 3 cycles of 1.5 hour (0:30 - 5:00) and skipping one or two naps. I don't know what you mean by Steve Pavlina pattern — it sounds like you're describing a variation of Everyman. As I understand it, Everyman is the term for any schedule that has a core and at least 2 naps. If I understand you correctly, you're asking if it will work to switch between a 3-hour core plus 3 naps and a 4.5-hour core and 2 naps. The answer is probably, especially if you're a 5-cycle/7.5-hour sleeper normally. I can't predict what your adaptation would be like, though. I aimed for consistency first, and experimented with flexibility later. (I'm also a 6-cycle sleeper, so I aim for four naps with a 3-hour core.) My husband's polyphasic sleep schedule is rarely the same from day to day, but he's superhuman or something. |
