I've got ADHD and I'd like to see if it's food allergies or if diet can get me off the meds. The problem is, it just doesn't seem feasible to find the time to figure out everything I can and can't eat, then slowly add one food at a time to see how it affects me. I mean, how long will this take? Plus, I can't expect my family to be on the same diet. Their food will be in the fridge and I won't have time for anything else and I'll eat it. I mean, it sounds like a military-like regimen. And, if you know ADHD at all, you'll realize it's nearly impossible for us to have any structure at all. I'd forget to eat if my stomach didn't complain. How can I tackle this seemingly insurmountable feat without a "Sven" (the Nordic looking guy on that commercial that makes all the plans for that family and runs around pushing them to get everything done)? I think healthcare should provide me with a coach like Rocky Balboa's. Any thoughts?

Check out Dr. Mark Hyman's website. His book might be cheaper on Amazon, but his website has some really good information. The UltraMetabolism diet charts out pretty well the process of eliminating potentially allergenic foods, and how to reintroduce them back to your diet and see how they affect you. The diet is based on Mediterranean diet - good whole foods so even at it's most strict, you can share foods with your family. The Simple Plan for Automatic Weight Loss | UltraMetabolism Qualified Doctors | UltraMetabolism Functional Medicine and UltraWellness - Solving the Epidemic of Chronic Disease Here's a link to the guide that's listed in the book. You might be able to tell from it if the diet is one that might work for you. Dr. Hyman likes Metagenic's supplements, but you can do the diet without supplements also. There is also information in the message boards about cost savings ways to do the diet. Download for Free the UltraMetabolism Guide | UltraMetabolism For structure - one of the best things I've gained from this program is a protein drink Dr. Hyman calls his UltraShake. It is based on rice, soy or nut proteins, flax seeds and fruit. The one I made this morning had almond milk, almond butter, flax oil (optional), flax seeds, a frozen banana and frozen blueberries. I added a bit of agave nectar and vanilla extract. These shakes sustain me all morning. Protein bars could also be an option for you. Good luck to you. |

It's a lie that diet will help you. Why? Cause it's not addressing the core reason for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The core reason is Pollution. If you'll stop and think about what I said, you'll see I'm right. Toxic Pollution disrupts the Organic humans Brain syntax process, Why is this not common Medical Knowledge? The Military-Industrial infrastructure will live in has "hijacked" Modern Medicine. Get rid of the core reason, then you won't have ADHD. (BTW- The medication you take is just a bandage, and again does not address the Core reason.) Prove it to yourself, live somewhere for a couple of weeks that has no pollution. (Countryside, beaches away from any major city, mountains, etc.) | |

While it's unrelated to your original concern I thought I'd mention that omega 3's are showing a little promise for helping people with ADHD (Omega-3 fatty acid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Perhaps you may want to consider a fish oil supplement.

I'll definately try it, although it says nothing about studies in adults. Quote:
