my dad, who is fairly anti-natural medicine, is having some ear problems, such as having stuffy ears and being in some minor but aggravating pain. he asked me for some advice on cures that aren't in the form of prescription drugs, so he is willing to go the natural, alternative route here. any ideas or advice? appreciate it!

if his ears are blocked up or feeling "stuffy" it could just be wax. You can alleviate this by putting a few drops of olive oil or vegetable oil in them a day. Yes, I am serious. This breaks up the wax and can often prevent a trip to the doctor. Brian

| I'm not a doctor and I'm not sure about the ear problems.. it could be ear wax as Brian said. I would also recommend researching it on WebMD.com

What are some of his habits ? Clenching your teeth together might cause the ear to be stuffy. Open and close one's mouth like a gold fish will allow little air gates in your ear (the thing that makes your ear go pop), that might resolve the stuffyness

If it's wax, perhaps he could remove it with ear candling. You can usually get them at organic-type health stores. However, I've heard conflicting reports on how healthy they are to use, so you might want to do more research if you are considering this option.

They have drops at the regular pharmacy for clearing ear wax. They say it builds up way more prevalently than we think. If that doesn't work, I would get allergy tested. This early spring time of the year, my husband nearly goes deaf in one ear because of pollen. He just takes Benadryl at night before bed and it helps a ton. Jennifer
