Default 50 marathons, 50 states, by 50 years old?

I'm working on this goal to finish a marathon in every U.S. state before I turn 50. I got hooked on marathons when I did my first one to raise funds for the Arthritis Foundation. I raised over $40,000 en route to completing the Honolulu Marathon. Since then, I've done 5 more, each in a different state, and I'm really starting to develop a plan to complete this goal. The biggest challenge, I think, will be the financial requirements of traveling. I may need to get creative with that. Anyone interested in hearing about my progress as I go? Should I start a blog? Anyone else out there doing this, or completed it? I'm all ears for resources, suggestions, support, encouragement...heck, anyone wanna join me for some races? I've coached several non-runners to their first marathon finish. Let me know!

Beautiful...My last marathon was the Honolulu at age 42 in 1988. It was also a PR for me at 3:51:47. I wanted to do what you are doing but my left hip decided different and I had it replaced so now I am a 5 and 10K guy. good luck. Remember that the race does not always go to the swift...but to those that keep on running. Rick
