Default Been sick for about 5 days now..

What should I do? I know I should be getting rest, but I can't fall asleep during the day anymore. I haven't been getting out too much, though I try to get outside just for a little bit each day.

I have no idea what it is. It's really not that bad, I just get tired and dizzy so it prevents me from doing anything. Obviously that means I should be getting rest, but I have, and I feel like I can't get anymore, but once I start to do things, I get tired and dizzy.

It started with some sniffles and sneezing. Then I got a fever with chills. Then I developped a headache and sore throat, after going out on Wednesday with some equipment for a performance. Now I have that sick smell all in my nose. My throat feels like it's just about to get over the sore throat, it doesn't really hurt, but when I cough I can tell it's still there. I have a little of all of those now, but it's really not that bad. I feel like I'm recovering but I've been sick for so long. I'm sure Wednesday didn't help, but whatever, now I just want to recover as fast as possible.

I haven't been sick in a while, even a minor cold or whatever, since right before summer, and that was when I was sick for a single day.

I've been drinking honey, garlic, lemon, and ginger.

Cut out the honey and garlic. They're both toxic.

I recommend drinking only fresh organic vegetable and fruit juice. Try lemon apple and ginger. Or fresh carrot juice or fresh orange juice. Try to cut out all the meat and dairy (if you eat these things) for the next week or two. I guarantee you'll see an improvement within 2 days.

^ What do you mean toxic?

Thanks I'll try that. It's so hard to pass up good food though lol, especially now that I feel better.

Sounds like a medium to low grade persistent sinus infection.

I don't know about honey and garlic being toxic. I'd only shell out the bucks for organic honey (and it ain't cheap) and I'm picky about my sources of supplements like garlic but other than that ... I'd want to see credible references to say they are inherently toxic.

But it's beside the point really because the things you're taking are better for soothing than curing. Looks to me like high-dose vitamin C (as much as you can stand without getting the runs -- several grams a day) and 25,000 IU of Vitamin A for a few days (long term toxicity potential but okay for limited time, especially in this situation) will do you more good; they'll help boost your immune system to combat this.

Strongly consider supplementing with Vitamin D, too, this time of year, especially if you're in a climate or situation where you get very little sun.

Some people also swear by flushing their nose & sinuses with sterile saline solution a couple times a day ... if it works for you, it can do wonders for a persistent sinus infection. My wife was once given this advice by a physician and it worked pretty well for her, despite her comprimised immune system.
