I just made a green smoothie with bananas, strawberries and spinach and it is perfect with a $30 blender. What are the extra benefits of a vitamix since it is 15 times the price of this blender?

try blending something that is not soft like bananas, strawberries, and spinach are. something frozen or ice, nuts, etc. it's not that regular blenders don't work, they do.... a vitamix just works so much better. experience a vitamix and you'll understand. they are magical.... and very quick. yes they are expensive, but worth it. another thing to consider is how long it will last. i went through 3 heavy duty $100 blenders over the course of a few years - they would burn out or break. that doesn't happen with vitamix and i use it several times per day. it's a pleasure to use... everyone i know that has ever used my vitamix has realized its magic and soon become obsessed with obtaining their own. |

Heres one of my favorites Bulk whole wheat flour is 1.50 per lb in my town, wheat berries are .69 cents a lb. Throw them in the vitamix and you have flour. I can make guacamole in 2 minutes and the only clean up is a knife, a cutting board and the vitamix, which takes about 10 seconds to clean. In fact, most the stuff I make takes less than 5 minutes with minimal clean up. I made fresh pancake batter and blueberry syrup today in about 10 minutes. All I washed was a measuring cup, a bowl and the vitamix. On the "worst" of days, my vitamix gets used 2 times. On the best, 6 or more! The only thing I use close to that amount is my little electric pot used to boil water, since we tossed out our microwave. The only 2 negatives to the blender have been the fact that it cant do certain types of chopping, and sometimes food (hummus) is trapped under the blade, but I got a long spatula with a small blade and that has cleared it up. Best appliance I own. | |
