Awhile ago while planning global domination, a path for my life and what to do this year I read about the idea of breakthrough goals, this was the idea that one goal would make the biggest difference in your life and somehow make all other goals easier to achieve or happen automatically. At the time I didn't know what that was. Now it has become clear to me that is simply getting into the state of being the person I want to be and then I will achieve all my goals automatically. The problem I am having is an extreme lack of energy, it's stopped me from doing pretty much anything this week, although this week is more a special case, I think it's due to lack of food this week (i've lost my appetite and i'm trying to build it back up). Although rather strangely despite not eating that much, I seem to have put on quite a bit of weight (I think my body has stored the fat) I just seem to have no energy and I then get confused and can't concentrate and it just leads me into a circle where nothing gets done. I'm a vegetarian, i've recently bought some multi vitiams, iron tables and omega 3 (for vegetarians) which I've just started taking. But as to other stuff, I have no clue, some advice please? |

It could be a variety of things. One thing I have to ask: are you a woman or a man? I know, as a woman myself, that fatigue + weight gain often means you're getting your period. That could be one very easy answer. Or...pregnancy? But then you'd be starving, probably. DO YOU EXERCISE? I think this is KEY. It's sounding like you don't, and I can tell you right now, regular exercise will keep your energy up on a consistent basis. I know it sounds contradictory--how can you exercise with no energy? Well, you just do. It's much easier to exercise than to, say, do your taxes or find a new job. Once you get started, after 10 minutes you're in the flow. If you can't jog or do something cardiovascular, at the very least, walk. But don't stay sedentary!!! That's probably why you're packing on pounds, as well. Other than that, I see you're a vegetarian, and lack of protein--complete protein--could greatly reduce energy and concentration. It's good you have supplements, but it might be too much for your body if you're not eating enough. I've gotten myself sick on those Emergen-C's. But, that could be draining your energy, too. It could be your lifestyle--do you work? Do you have purpose? When I was unemployed or working part-time I had the LEAST energy. I would get exhausted going to the post office. It was pathetic. But also, when we feel that "I need to do all these things" feeling, it's often overwhelming. Meditation would help--it would help you stay present. Living too much int he future or past is VERY energy-draining. And then there's the circle of "why isn't this getting done?" and trying to figure it out rather than just DOING something. I find cleaning--as much as I hate it--helps me get other stuff done because I get into that "doing" mood. So, I hope that makes sense. It might be physical; it might be something more spiritual/emotional. I think you'll be the best judge. Good luck! |

I am overweight, i'm working more exercise into my schedule (I just come back from running/walking) and I'm looking at my diet, I need to eat more actually and more often. And yea the circle of "why isin't this getting done", I have a problem where I really really really just wanna do great things and I obsess over it to much, so I am always reading stuff and searching and trying to figure stuff out which really gets me nowhere, I really know most of the stuff I need to know for now, I just need to get going!! |

I've had this problem before, and I kept procrastinating til I had no option but to pick myself up again. Obviously, this wasn't the way to go about it. The healthier solution I discovered was to start brainstorming all the long term reasons I should do something, and how that is gonna benefit me, and feel how I will feel when it does. That usually gathers up enough passion to make me get a move on even if I have little physical energy. Hope that helps somehow. |

A GREAT book for your kind of problem is Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective People." Steve likes Covey, too. But, it breaks down what it takes to take action and be efficient, rather than just saying "Take action!" Check it out--it's really great. And yes, EXERCISE! Start small--walk for a half an hour a day. Walk to work, to school, etc. Drink water. Eat well. If you're overweight, that can also drain energy. Do what makes you happy--that's the best way to get energy. If you spend your day doing things you hate, you won't have any energy to do them. If you spend your day doing things you love, you'll have all the energy you need and more. good luck! |

Yea I think the problem is largely down to my diet and water intake, i'm going to become more concious of that, just making sure i eat regularlly and getting lots of exercise, if I am exercising and eating enough then i don't really need to worry about anything else and i am sure weight loss will handle itself. The problem i guess is when I am tired i just get so confused about everything that i can't think straight so no matter what soultions i come up while i'm thinking senasibly when that hits everything is out of the window. |
