| This has happened to me ever since I was younger. It's difficult to explain, so please bear with me. My whole body will feel like it will speed up, my heart, my mind, everything. My mind will start racing, and I will either hear people yelling at me, or I will hear whatever it was that I was thinking at the time loudly. "Hear" isn't the correctly word. I don't hear it physically, but I think it very LOUDLY, if you can understand, almost to the point where it can drown out real sounds. Objects will start to look very far away, almost like my vision zooms out. My room will suddenly seem larger, and all objects appear to be out of my reach, even when they are right next to me. I'll start to get very anxious and scared, and making movements with my body, such as typing or moving my arms just doesn't feel natural anymore, because I feel so jittery and sped up. When I was younger, this would only happen when I had a very high fever, like when I had a flu. However, now it happens when I'm not sick, usually just sitting at my computer doing homework or playing a video game. I would say it happens once or twice a week, for what seems like no reason. It's always short lived, only a few minutes at a time, but it causes me to "freak out" and get panicky when it does. If anyone has any experience with this, or knows what might be causing it, I'd appreciate hearing from you. |

| I can't say exactly what is causing your episodes- or what it is. I can say that it sounds similar to an anxiety attack. Increased heart rate, respiration, racing thoughts all fit the description. I highly recommend that you speak to your doctor about it. It's not debilitating and you seem to cope well with it, so treatment options are varied. But, first you need a decent diagnosis. |
