Not everyone finds childbirth painful. One of my friends from the past swore to me she had no pain. She happened to watch a cat give birth, and tried to emulate the cats movements. . . no pain. . . she had no drugs either. It was her first and only child, so it wasn't like her body had figured it out in advance. She is a hypnotherapist, so probably used relaxation, breathing, all of that stuff to help. I don't know. She has moved away and we no longer keep in touch. Perhaps we feel the pain because everyone says we should; or perhaps we all just have different experiences of what is painful and what is not. I don't know. I never had children myself, so I can't really comment. I do know that expectations can result in the experience. And if I had pain, I wouldn't beat myself up over it.
