i've been playing boxing for 2 years, and i'm gonna buy my own bag at home, but in my country (VietNam), they just sell the bag, what should i put in the bag, some people say sand would be too heavy and too hard, when i asked my boxing teacher, he said" i dont know". So now what i should put in it? |

Hi, I can tell you what to Not put in it : sand. It thought that was what the "standard" but it's not. It really hurt when you punch it Then I emptied it, and I restarted. I put some very old clothes, and some very cheap carpets, and put some sand in top of this, and then some carpets again and finally some sand again. And now it's cool. I think its height is 50kg, and maybe 40kg are from the sand. I don't with what they stuf the ready-to-use bags but I found it too light. |

I'd say either water(get a water bag though) or sand(anything involving sand). If it's hard it'll toughen up your wrists and knuckles(or anything else you use on it)... Also, whatever you do, don't get a bag stand. Just hang the bag off of the ceiling. Almost every time I've injured myself, it's because of the bag stand and not the actual bag. If you kicked it from the front you could easily knock yourself over(I do it from the side though)... And make sure you have plenty of room on all sides, especially if you intend to kick the bag... |
