Then, if you still don't like his books, that's fine -- switch to something else. At least you would have known that you gave his ideas a fair shot.
My taste for scientific rigor means that I get facts from both enthousiasts and critics, and start weighting and judging them against each other and my own prior knowledge. I can't learn from the critics by reading his book, and I don't need to read the book to learn that he says I should not eat wheat. I continue to get more facts until I feel I can make an informed decision. So not just the Wikipedia entry, but also these:

Book Review: Eat Right 4 Your Type
Eat right for 4 your Blood Type - another Diet Fad?
Dr. Arpad Pusztai Talks about Dr. D'Adamo's Blood Type Diet Theory

The 'Blood Type Diet:' Fact or Fiction?

I think those links are very informative. Like I said, the writers are not neutral themselves, but that is ok as long as I just look at their argument. I'm interested in what you think of these links, especially Dr. Pusztai's answers.

You could be right that I judged to fast. So to be sure, I will do a short no-wheat-no-nuts trial. If his theory is correct, than I should feel much better within a few days. Does he say anything in his book about when you can feel the effects?

I'm not sure about everything, but right now my money is not on D'Adamo. I have to rely on experts for scientific info about nutrition. I'm convinced often, like about trans fats. A clear story about clogged arteries, with pictures of molucules. Or something like a daily minimum of one gram of protein for every kilo bodyweight and twice that for athletes. Things like that I believe and accept. It's just that my alarm bells ring when someone says I have been poisoning myself with wheat, just because I'm type O.

There are so many diets and I can try only a few. How did you decide on whom to believe?
