Default Can a college student wake up at the same time every day?

I just read Steve's articles on early rising, and I like the idea, but I am a college student and feel that there are some problems with this.

As a college student I often go out drinking with my buddies, especially on the weekends. Since we stay out late on these nights, I think it would be extremely difficult to get up at an early hour after a late night of partying.

My main question would be: what should I do to keep a consistent sleeping habit if my buddies are inviting me out for a late night on the town and I want to join them? Should I turn them down just to preserve my routine?

I personally don't see the point in early rising. I'd rather have fun with friends and have great memories rather than get up at 5 AM.

I don't like drinking that much, but that's just me. It's that "bleh' feeling the next day, even when I just have a few.

I am a student that stays up very late doing homework fairly often, but I always get up very early. I believe this is possible because:

1) I have established the habit very firmly
2) my body has gotten used to it and can handle very little sleep once in a while
3) I work early in the morning and I can't afford to skip work often

It's very hard to get up early without a compelling reason, so that is likely a major hurdle for people.

Well, if you go drinking, then I assume the next day is a weekend day right? So, get up at the normal time you get up, even if you've only had a few hours of sleep. Stay up for 4 hours, then go back to bed and take a long nap. That way you've gotten up early and kept your routine, and still gotten the rest for that day. I've done this when I've stayed up late on weekend and wanted to keep my 5am getting-up routine.

Well I'm a college student and I set a goal for myself to get up before 7 everyday last month and I failed to so. Meaning that I NEVER GOT UP BEFORE 7 on any day.

And everyday I would be up around 9 or so and I would be EXTREMELY agitated and mad, of course I would tell myself that tomorrow I would get up early but that never had it happened. I would be awake during that time but for some reason and my mind and body do not comply with my wishes, I completely FORGET about getting up. I just lay there. I'm scared of success I guess, I'm scared of the power I hold. I don't know how to fix this.

Today I got up around 10 and so far my day isn't getting any better. ANd to make things worse, I usually get home around 12 or 1 AM at night when I'm studying all the time, I'm just exhausted. And no I do not eat junk food, I eat healthy and exercise but recently I made a rigid rule that if I don't go exercising in the morning I'm not going the rest of the day, because I don't want to cheat myself like that.

It seems that ever since I got to college I never had a good day/ or a day that went accordingly to my goals and plans.
