| Hi, Has anyone tried this program by Tom - Burn the fat and feed the muscle? |
| |||
| absvan, I've read it before (a couple years ago), and I thought it was a pretty good resource, especially for someone new to "fitness." If I remember right it really preaches high protein, small meals, and weight training. It's not the end-all-be-all, but can be a great place to start.

| Most of the book is about calories in vs calories out, how many calories to consume to lose x lbs/week, how to minimize muscle loss and maximize fat loss, what exercise burns the most fat, etc. There is an emphasis on discipline regarding calorie intake--he just leaves it up to you to figure out how to eat fewer calories without going crazy. There is some nutritional information that you may or may not agree with (it's mainly the standard stuff you hear from the bodybuilding community). I would recommend the book to anybody looking to get into building muscle. As for losing fat, it is definitely not the first book I would recommend reading. |

It's a great book, and I love it. He doesn't only talk about training and exercise, but start with NLP, writing goals and things like this. He knows how important this is, and when you are done with this he moves on to the training and meals and how important it is. |

| Rossoneri, for fat loss I would recommend the books "Eat to Live" by Joel Fuhrman and "McDougall's Program for Maximum Weight Loss" by John McDougall. Those books got me to 12% body fat, and then "Burn the Fat" helped me get lower. I would start here: Free McDougall Program: Successfully change your diet & lifestyle quickly regain your lost health & appearance.. |

| Thanks everybody for your posts. Rosonneri, You should also check out the Body For LIfe program by Bill Philips. If possible watch the videos. It will definitely help you. |

| Is that the same guy that says you should order supplements from his company at the same time you work through his program? |

| Check out Dr Sears for Pace Training a sophisticated version of Interval training with emphasis on muscle building and reducing fat through dietary changes and exercise programme.

However the content and the transformations of people are amazing. I like their cardio training ane idea of meal planning....but I wasnt very sure about the weight training. But people who followed have had extraordinary results that speak out. |

| eblight, My goodness, speaking of interval training... I did High Intensity Interval Trainining (HIIT) a little less than a week ago and I was hurting for like 4 days straight... it was hard to walk... that's some tough stuff. There's a video of the maddness here: The Community for Excellence Forum - View Single Post - Log: Getting My Bulk On!

| Tried the program. Liked it very much. I didn't need bodybuilding advice, but still, whatever nutrition information was there came in handy. He's got great meal templates for 5-6 meal regimen. It really saved my time not having to sort all food into groups. It might have shortcomings from the point of view of a person who knows a lot about the nutrition, but from the point of view of 80\20 rule, the course gives you the necessary 20 percent.
