I can't believe no one mentioned dance! Great for cardio and can be done at home. And it is fun. And it can be done with a partner. And... it's fun.

As for stairs. I suddenly realized one benefit of living in a megapolis - I have 16 stores of step aerobics just waiting for me every time I come home. Doesn't outweigh the problems of the city, but great to keep in shape.
