| I'm a person who - by nature - mediates with all people around the world, even with people I meet on the street, communicate with all cultures, I shake hands, embrace, etc. ... and I'm quite aware that although I do it spontaneously, the capitalist business world sees this as an asset - especially due to networking and sales capacities. However, all things that appear to be positive carry disadvantages as well... I wanted to ask you what you think - in general - of contagious diseases/infections/ailments/etc. and what's the best way to prevent them. Is there a way to prevent contagious things without severing all contact with other human beings?

| Something that Jay Leno (and maybe other famous people) do is keep sanitary wipes in their pockets. If you watch Jay's monologue on the Tonight Show, he shakes hands with lots of people in the audience and then puts his hands in his pockets. That's because he has hand wipes in his pockets. | Having a fiance with an autoimmune disorder, I've learned the best attitude on this is, "JUST F***ING RELAX." Seriously, why worry about this? You can't avoid germs. All you can do is do the common sense things to take care of you. I haven't had a cold in six months and I don't know why. Probably because I don't worry about stuff.

| Guys, guys, calm down, okay? I'm not worrying, nor am I stressed about this. It's just that in the past months I had some pretty bad experiences with overall healthcare, wherefore I'd prefer living happily and more cautiously in future. I'm only asking what is the proper way to prevent... although you call it common sense, for some people it isn't (and unfortunately I had to count myself among those...). This is nothing about stress... rather, the prevention of it in the long term

| Avoid touching your face, especially your eyes, and wash your hands often. Drink a lot of water, eat healthily (whatever that means to you, but generally avoid processed junk), and get enough sleep. Those simple things will do a lot to keep you healthy. |

| If you are talking about Selenium dependable virus like HIV, Hepatitis C/B and even EBOLA. I believe a good nutrition that covers all human's essential nutrients ( especially selenium in the case of contagious selenium dependable virus ) is your best bet of living an almost "deadly virus free life". | Don't jam your fingers up your nose or mouth, and if you prefer, don't drink after people. This includes water fountains. Mono is going around at my school and I am taking extra precautions just because that would be such a severe setback. But as far as colds and flus, save any extreme precautions for when you know the person is contaminated. It really isn't worth thinking about, and disease is good for your immune system. |

| there are good ways you can retain your sanity and stay clear of germs more efficiently. Carry around some sanitary wipes and wash your hands (with soap) before you eat and as soon as you come home. Try not to become too radical about the germ thing....next thing you know you will be resisting all human touch and contact....and is that any way to live?? |

| If you had ANY idea how absolutely encased every single physical object in the world is in bacteria, viruses and others, you would never ask this question. Handwashing is a good idea because that is how most disease is transmitted but it's almost moot. Even the papertowel has bacteria naturally. Even the air blown from a hot dryer has bacteria. Your keyboard, telephone, steering wheel and purse probably are the most loaded...yet people worry about toilet seats. Your mouth is dirtier than a toilet seat. Germs are our friends. The keep out immune systems in fighting condition. What is dangerous and renders one susceptible to disease is unhealthy eating, drinking and sleep habits. Jennifer |

The advice is sound. What you resist is drawn to you. The more you focus on lack of health, the more you'll create that in your life. That's what they're saying to you: relax, don't worry about your health.
