Default Burning eyes while reading?

I recently got back in to reading at night, once I got in to SD, but, I can't remember if this happened before or not, when I read for more than about 30 minutes, my eyes start burning, not anything I can't handle, just sort of annoying, and they start watering. This is usually the reason I go to sleep, not because I'm fully tired. Anybody have anything like this? Is my light to bright? Any suggestions?

Your eyes are probably dry since we tend to blink less when we read. Since it only bothers you when you read for awhile, you would probably be fine if you just picked up some artificial tears. Just don't get the ones that get the red out. They will make it worse if you use them too much.

There is a book on improving your vision but I haven't tried it yet.

Eye Exercises Improve Vision Eyesight

Let me know if it does.

So, should I simply try blinking more?

It's not a matter of vision, I don't think, I have better than 20/20 vision.

I'm not sure if trying to blink more or not will help simply because it can be difficult to keep focused enough to try blinking more consistently. Can't hurt to try though. Otherwise, assuming it's dryness, artificial tears should help. It might just be your environment (I'm not sure about the light being too bright), in which case a humidifier might even help.

I'm guessing the problem is dryness because burning and watery eyes are two of the main symptoms, and since you only experience the problem when reading after awhile, I can't think of anything else it could be.

I'm not a doctor though; just someone with chronic dry eyes. If anything above doesn't work, and if it bothers you enough, you might want to see an eye doctor.
