Essentially the point here is people always talk about reaching a state of love and unconditional love, and they talk about all the things that will mean. Even within this group I see it. I don't think there ever comes a point where you feel love for everyone, compassion of human folly, but not love, not in the way people talk about it. As an example I can't stand Adam Corolla, I doubt that will ever change no matter what is my level of consciousness. Yes at some point (already) I see people think they need to act in a certain way, and they are identified with their actions. There is a saying by some philosopher, I don't know which one and who really cares anyway, but he says something, somewhere along the lines of people act in the best manner they're capable. Like if they could do better they would. So there is a recognition of the ignorance that is inherent to having a human mind, but love? come on. I will never love Hitler.

Further more why even try to embody love? To make another Jed Mckenna reference (he uses a lot of analogies involving butterflies, and vampires) He says, you don't get to enlightenment by acting enlightened, just as putting on a cape and plastic fangs doesn't make you a vampire, so why are so many trying to go that way? Same thing with Eckhart Tolle and all the people try to "live in the moment" don't they know you don't have to try to do that? Nothing else is even possible. Go ahead somehow invent time travel go back a few seconds and live life there. Oh but wait, even if you did somehow do that, you would then be automatically living your life in that moment.

All I can say is it's possible. Scratch that, necessary.

Let me splain..

All of the non love you experience is due to judgmentalism. There's something you won't accept as is. You resist something and want it to be different. In enlightenment you are totally accepting of everything at a very fundamental level. There's no more judging, no more condemning, all of the blocks to love are gone. Adam Corolla is a charming lad. Hitler was an amazingly disciplined and focused leader. There is always a way to love, really.

I actually can find love in anything. I can't always access such a perspective but It feels more and more present in my day to day life. I'm not just BS'ing here. I can see all of the shortfalls, all of the things that annoy me, all of the things I hate in others in myself as well. This brings about a great feeling of love because it is a tie that bonds me to all other things. It's stepping beyond logically thinking about the word unity and actually feeling it. Love is just a word and so is compassion. We can get caught up on the terminology but ultimately I can experience the unity and it feels like love.

Right I agree there is acceptance at a fundamental level, which is why my feelings towards an individual have absolutely no bearing. It seems like what you are talking about is "spin."

To take it further isn't feeling that you must use this spin to find aspects of individuals that you can love just a rejection of the part of of you that hates. To be pure of mind is to have a mind free of doubt and (worldly) error not to be saint. Ghandi fought against british imperialism and was enlightened. Did he decide to love british imperialism because it was so enterprising? No he squashed it out of existence, enlightenment intact.

It's not that I spin anything or consciously try to see, reject or accept anything. It's just there. It's like seeing myself in every other person and feeling a deeply profound connection. I have no desire to squash anything out of existence. In fact, I see how acts of evil, greed and other undesirable qualities are one with acts of love. I have moved more from a sense of needing to spread love to feeling as though I owe nothing to anyone because simply accepting myself in entirety is to love and accept everyone and everything. This is difficult for me to explain and you're probably thinking I'm just regurgitating past teachings but I feel as though I am finally truly experiencing unity on a level far beyond any type of logical understanding.

That's fair enough Billy. I think Chris hits the nail on the head when he says if you have negative feelings that they are also loveable. It's all about energy. I'm not rejecting my judgmental side, I love that as well. It's more like the loving thoughts dissolve the negativity not by attacking the negative, but by expanding the positive. There was a Mother Teresa quote I heard somewhere when someone asked her if she would march against the war. She said no, but she would march FOR peace. Gandhi wasn't using violence to defeat British imperialism, he was using nonviolence, compassion, love to heal the situation.

As for "spinning", ie focusing on the positive, that's just a great technique for expanding the presence of love. Underneath the appearances, everything really IS perfect. Seeing the positive is just a way to get into the flow of that.

I also wanted to add that it is not as if I have any pull towards acts of evil. Although my moral compass seems to be merging, it seems as though it is necessary. All acts of cruelty or evil arise out of a place of judgment. A place of "I'm this way and you're this way and I don't like the way you are." This ultimately is because we refuse to see what we despise in ourselves so we find someone or something to project it onto. More and more I find myself unable to go through this process because it almost always comes back to me acknowledging the qualities in myself. If I'm willing to hate someone else I must also be willing to hate myself.

These days numbers talk to me and they are telling me that 'love' will be my next stage of development, whereas my last few years have been all about wisdom. Perhaps it has something to do with the energy level in my body, there are some who say once the heart chakra opens up, that is when you really connect with love.

I also think we need to be honest with ourselves, if we don't fell love we cannot pretend that we do. Yet, perhaps we can have a mental marker whenever our heart closes down, because chances are that we have to do some spiritual homework in this dimension. God is pure love, I think this fact is pretty well-established.
