Welcome to the group. I have set this group up as invitation only to keep it to a group of people that I view as caring about and being involved in the aspects of spirituality that I am more interested in, which I would term as advanced spirituality and enlightenment. That being said if anyone would like to suggest someone for membership by all means do so. The aim is to avoid discussion of topics such as angels psychic powers or anything that would be deemed "mystical" and keep the focus more on the real. I would like it to mainly center around the more eastern traditions and teachers such Jed McKenna, Hawkins, Tolle, but if you are a christian (for example) and have a serious discussion topic you would like to bring up related to that, don't hesitate. I realize right now this is all just a concept, an idea of what I would like and that in reality it may play out as something different, or maybe not take off at all but this is my idea.

okay well first off does anyone have suggestions about more members to invite. I only invited 4, I'm not sure if one will join (Chris Ginsburg) and one hasn't been active for a couple weeks (wolfgang) I was sort of thinking of midnite but he/she? discusses lots of psychic and spirit realm kind of stuff, nietsoden, pianoperformer, any suggestions?

Dear all, I look forward to our discussions. I often think about the point Vivekananda made when he said that the Vedas were essentially written by rishis who sat in the forest and experimented with themselves and then compared notes. Just imagine if you did a spiritual experiment like that on a global scale with the technology available today. So please keep the discussions coming!

sorry guys I've been pretty lazy with this group after having a flash of inspiration to start it. I'm going to make a thread and invite all to join but under the understanding that it is strictly based on reality and nothing new-agey such as crystals, angels, prophecies, etc.

Well that's a good point. It's not that the other stuff is not even real necessarily, there was a pint in my life where I was all about increasing psychic powers, and I got results, but it seems like distraction to me now. Hawkins discusses this. It's not that these things aren't real per se, it's just that there's no need to go there. Yes, that is a very good point and I would say exactly the same about the manifestation crowd; the secret is an important reminder that in the end everything is just maya. But running after manifestations is a similar distraction, all we are here to learn on our imagined course is "not this and not that" until we reach our final destination, love, or, even a state beyond that.
