I declare:

I am taking control of my life and I'm setting myself free.

Or even better...

I control my life and I am free.

Good for you for putting your intention out there. I wish you all the best in everything you do.

"Freedom is the freedom to say 2 + 2 = 4. After that everything else follows."

Freedom is what you make it.

A prisoner can still think. Those thoughts make him a free man.

Remember also do not try to attach to this idea of being free, or you'll miss real freedom.

Truthfully, there is another one that I prefer and is the original one I came up with:

I'm gonna take control of my life and I'm gonna set myself free.

It rings more powerful within me when I say that. Perhaps it's the very strong emotional state I was in when this thought first came to my mind.

seeker5! Congratulation on taking this giant leap...

Why don't you use your quote in your signature... that way it would be a constant reminder and reinforcer...

More power to you. Of course you should use whatever seems most empowering to you. Sorry for being a downer and trying to change your intention!

Shamou's suggestion of making it you sig is cool.

Great... it only took you three weeks to decide...

Now, that you're free... you gotta start learning to live dangerously....

I spent most of the time away from this forum brooding about Steve's not allowing us to edit our old posts and also doing some serious rethinking and re-evaluating on how I was going to pursue on this personal development path.

Editing old posts would be hell… a thread is a linear process which builds on previously expressed points of views and opinions… now, if those previously expressed thoughts could be altered… the sum total of the thread would no longer make sense…

Stephen R. Covey (The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People) tells us to, “Begin with the end in mind….”

So, you must begin with defining “who and what” you want to become… then, find the tools and expertise that will get you there…

And, if you find it difficult to pinpoint who and what you want to become… find a role model that best fit your ideal… then follow that person’s path…

The very best of luck to you...

Good advice Shamou.

I would also add that finding yourself, is a goal within itself apropo it should be treated as an integral and wholly objective goal within and of itself

I am not even 17, I am just 16...thank you for the lovely sentiment though Shamou...oh gosh now I am blushing gee wiz mister, you sure do know what the right thing to say is, when I grow up I wanna be just like you...

Or some other stereotypical, 1950's Americano propoganda video impression of "Junior" or "Sport"

If I was a girl I would be Peggy-Sue...

Oh god there I go again..ignore me folks...I am just a lonely troll...

Old threads are not viewed much. I've participated in other forums where I could go back and edit my older posts. I feel better when I can do that.
