Default Sungwon from Korea

Hi!

My name is Sungwon Choe. I'm half-korean/half-white american. I'm from the USA originally and have been living in Korea since 2004. I'm a graduate student in computer science at KAIST.

I love music. My favorite genres are metal and jazz fusion. Naturally, some of my favorite bands are those that mix these genres (like Cynic, Atheist, Spiral Architect, Aghora, Gordian Knot, etc.). I'm involved in the Korean metal scene doing translation and other work to try to help my musicians friends. I recently started a melodic death metal band of my own.

Although I'm in the CS department, I have strong interests in social issues, technology, globalization, history and learning in general. The new school of Culture Technology here is looking more and more attractive...

I found this site just at the right time a few months ago as I was starting to wake up. I'll admit I fall back to sleep a lot, but at least I dream.
