| Hello, my name is Adam and I'm from Chicago. I'm in my mid-20s and run my own software consulting business. I've been reading Steve's blog for about a year now... and I've taken a lot to heart. 2006 has been, without a doubt, the most 'conscious' year of my life: - I've quit biting my fingernails after 20 years - I left my "cube job", and started my own business - I set a goal for "money in the bank" and by the time June rolled around, I had doubled it. - I am completely out of debt - I have lost 30 pounds and run 2 marathons this year (which were a mere 3 days apart) I'm happy and healthy and Steve has had a lot to do with it. I'm looking forward to meeting many of you in the forums! Stay conscious! Adam |

I haven't run in any marathons, but I have found that I don't tire out as quickly when I do run, say on the basketball court or just running up a few flights of stairs. Your post does, however, inspire me to make a more conscious decision on what my bank account should look like. I haven't been paying attention to my expenses these days, and while I don't have any real debt to worry about, I haven't seen my savings increase much either. Thanks for the new, conscious goal! |
