| Hey everyone! I’ve been a member of this forum for a few months and have been reading Steve’s blog since the New Year. I decided to come out of the dark today, mainly because I’m trying to start my own website/blog and need help, but I’ll explain my dilemma elsewhere… I’m a member of another, non-related, forum where I am pretty active…I just thought it was time to open up to this one. Here is a little background on me for anyone who is interested… I’m…male…haha…and I just turned 18 a week ago, along with graduating from high school (Sacramento, California). I will be attending the University of North Texas as a Jazz (tenor) Saxophone performance major. I’m a jazz freak. I’m completely obsessed, its what I love, and it’s my passion. I eat, drink, sleep, and even wear jazz…Obviously, I stick out a little from the average high schooler, while everyone else is freak dancing to Hip-hop or rocking out, I’m digging classic jazz from the 40’s and 50’s, that or I’m practicing. Bebop and Hard bop, my favorites. My all time hero is John Coltrane. My other, number two interest is, just being healthy in general…I want to live long and be happy, haha. I have always enjoyed running and was on my schools Cross Country and Track team for two years. I try to eat healthy, but I’m not a ‘health freak’, often I get lazy and just eat whatever is closest. I also have a small fear of being old, unhealthy and inflexible, so that’s what usually drives me to work out and eat well. Oh yeah, I also take Alexander Technique Lessons; I encourage everyone to check it out! I really started getting into personal development this last school year(senior year), and started off trying to do things on my own, I didn’t even realize there were personal development websites or books (yeah yeah, so I was living under a rock, actually, a practice room...) Once I discovered this website, it really helped me out in a lot of ways. Anyway, that’s enough of an introduction…I look foward to meetin y'all (gotta get used to the texas thing... Thanks to Steve and all the forum contributors for the things I've already learned and for the things I will! Ramsey |

| Hello and welcome aboard Ramsey... You sound like a very interesting fellow... my guess is that you will fit right in... and be a very good asset to this board... I used to play the Tenor Sax... never was any good... but had a lot of fun doing it... Looking forward to reading your post and hopefully sharing and growing together... . |

| Thanks for the welcome Shamou! That's great you used to play Tenor Sax...what kind of music did you play? Any chance you still have the sax or the mouthpiece? If not, do you know what kind they were?
