| I just spent a few moments scanning around the forums, trying to make out what my contribution might eventually be. The range of topics and depth of discussions here boggle the mind. (Has anyone else ever been overwhelmed after discovering all this personal development stuff?) Like I said in my intro post, I arrived at StevePavlina.com after searching for productivity info. At the time all I had in mind was information to help me organize my office/work a bit better and get myself more motivated. What I've found is an almost bottomless pit of worthwhile information, perspectives and tips. Being that I'm in a state right now where I absorb more than I create, I am finding it almost crippling! That being said, the 2-minute-do-it-now rule is in my mind recently and I've already seen positive results. So, I'm thinking of starting - something - small, maybe using the 30 day trial method*. Early rising, and giving up habitual caffeine perhaps, for starters. Some problems I create and maintain that stand in my way:
Let me sign off right here - I may add or subtract to this post later, who knows - and say thanks again to Steve, Erin, and the Forums in general. As an aside, I have to say this is one of the most easy-to-navigate and visually appealing internet forums I've ever seen. Way to go. _____________ *Any tips on announcing / tracking progress of a 30 day trial? I figured right here in the forums, but then thought that'd be an imposition. |

| Welcome Pike, to the forums and to the human race! None of us is perfect. We all have many things to work on which is why we're here (on the forum and on earth). There's no shame in that. As long as you're willing and you put in the effort anything is possible! Onward!

| Hey, Pike. I am getting rid of some of those same problems you have listed. This site is very useful and encouraging. Everyone is so generous with their time and advice. Welcome.

| You've come to the right place. It sounds like you are taking hold of your life and leading it, just by coming here and asking questions. You also said, Pike, that you were interested in a 30-day trial. Which issue from your list would you most like to tackle with the 30 day trial? |

| Anxiety in particular is something I can relate to, and I'm sure you'll sort through all the information out there and make it your own as time goes by. Welcome to the forum, Pike. |

| Thank you all for the expanded welcome. Quote:
I'm thinking - whilst reflecting on my usage of this forum - that I have to do something about my general tendency to under-commit. (I just recently joined this forum but, as usual, have a tendency to drift away. I'm guessing the social anxiety or generalized anxiety or some other such nonsense is part of the driving force behind that, but I've had enough of it. Of all the forums out there, this one seems to be one of the most worthwhile to take part in.) I figured my 30 day trial could be a strictly enforced early rising. As a subset of that I could factor in some early morning habits, and build on that from there. Who knows where it'll go? In any case, I'd start simple: Early to bed and early to rise. |

| Sounds like a great idea, Pike. Let us know how you do. Here's some encouragement from me to you.
