Hi, I'm Ambrose. I've been reading Steve's articles for some time now, and I'm impressed with his approach to challenges. I have a forum of my own which I started recently and I'd like to know what the rules are in terms of letting people here know about it. ie can I put a link to it in my signature? Can I start a thread about it?

Hi Ambrose, Welcome to the forums. Thanks for asking the question.  Generally, we do allow links in signature to blogs or forums as long as it's not outright commercial. Also, our criterion is to see if the member here to contribute/learn or just promotion. If a member is simply promoting his/her site in ever post s/he makes, that considered spamming. Also, starting a thread about it is spamming. So I would say link is signature is fine, starting a thread is not. Also, please try to contribute to the discussions. |
