I am Nessa. I just got started with my spiritual path this past summer. Before then I met a man, fell in love with him, and then found out we now have a difference in beliefs. He is more the religious type, where as I am more the spiritual type, if that makes sense. I believe in my religion, I just think that each man needs his own personal connection with God as well.

The difference in beliefs comes from my own spiritual path I am just now embarking on. I am just getting to the point where I am not afraid to be myself. No offense to anyone, but I believe it was my religious upbringing that made me fear the development of spiritual gifts. Where I come from, the only spiritual gifts you are to have are singing, preaching, and church ministries. Absolutely no clairvoyance, clairaudience, claircognizance, and clairsentience allowed. So it took a long time to remove that fear to let these gifts grow. It took me 1 month to get comfortable with meditation and that's when I met my Guides. Ultimately, I want to help others by doing intuitive counseling (I think this is the word I am wanting to use).

I always "knew" there was something more to life and I was missing it. I remember my spirit guides when I was a kid--I guess I forgot them. I have since re-connected, and these seem like the same ones I always had. I was just too young to fully recall the experience these days of what they looked like. When I was young, I could see them very well. As of now, I hear them and receive visions from them. I see them as white orbs of light for right now. I am not sure of what is needed to see them more solidly like I did when I was a kid though.

So this is my story and I am glad to find the forum . . .

Cool story and welcome! I think people who have the gift really should use it. It is something that can help people a heck of a lot.

Thanks for responding. I feel the same way. I think one of my regrets was that I did not start this path earlier in my life. I think my gifts could have been advanced by now, but I believe that the timing probably just was not right. But better now than ever; plus, I seem to think I am advancing at a decent speed and mature enough to handle the gifts.
