Went lookin' for insight and was guided here...

I am intrigued that I came across this forum during my search for insight into the mysterious disappearance of my dear friend, Motivation. Motivation went on a vacation to who knows where and hasn't returned.

I need help and guidance in certain parts of my life right now. I am 30 years old and in the second year of college, working on pre-req's and lacking direction. I was super pumped last year with school and had a lot of drive to do the best I could. The drive/motivation paid off well with excellent grades and making the President's List 3 quarters in a row. Yet, I seemed to lack acceptance, or more like acknowledgement, in the fact I was doing so well. I think I may have some tendency toward perfectionism that really can screw up my perception of me and what I am capable of.

I could feel my drive slowly disappear as I started to realize I don't know exactly what my direction is.... I tutor English and enjoy helping people, but even with tutoring I am struggling to embrace the experience and seems like I want to give up a lot of the time. Something needs to give, I wonder if it will be helpful to focus on some personal development tools and techniques.... I could use all the help and experiences from others that I can get...

Maybe, just maybe, I will find a thread of velvet gold and it will be just what I need.

Welcome! there are plenty of tools and tips here, it's just up to you to dive in. The Personal Effectiveness forum might be a good place to start, unless something else catches your eye.
