The first day of the rest of my life?

I'm very happy to have stumbled my way here. I think I was searching for a top 50 list of self-development books to read, and it led to an article by Steve about how to build oneself, and then stock, a personal bookshelf dedicated to self-help literature. Well, I started browsing his site and the rest, as they say, is history!

Briefly, I live in New Zealand. I'm middle aged, and my wife is from Japan, doing a PhD in positive psychology. I teach English to speakers of other languages, so I appreciate what Steve requested in the instructions for posting which is to do so in English but, because this is an international forum, to be patient and understanding of people whose first language isn't.

Anyway, that's enough from me for now. Think I'll respond to some other newbies. Nice to be here!
