Hi, I found this forum through Google searching 'girlfriend with low self-esteem'. Why? I wanted to see how others have experienced and dealt with such a relationship issue. I guess I also felt a slight need to assure myself that what I'm going through isn't entirely unique, that there is a common pattern, a cause, effect, and eventually a solution. That's how I tend to process situations...with logic and reasoning, but I know that we can not navigate life with only those two guiding attributes. I'll be the first to admit that I have not always been in touch with my emotions and realize this lacking has often been a source of problems in certain areas of my life. But, having been with this wonderful, sweet girl for the last 5 years has changed me for the better. Obviously, though, it hasn't been all smooth sailing and that's what brought me here. Anyway I received such insightful thoughts on the subject of low self-esteem that I felt compelled to sign up and try to return this gift of giving others free advice to live their lives better. Hopefully some of you will find what I have to contribute useful. I am a 30 year old guy from Southern California and look forward to getting to know some of you. |
