| I believe gender is a scale rather than one or the other, and I belong somewhere near the middle. I'm female, although I play the traditional male role in our household. I am the technical one, I work, I do the DIY, I organise the finances, etc. My husband does the grocery shopping, takes the kids to school, cooks, does the laundry, he has the traditional female role. For the purpose of this poll though, I'm a girl |

But, please choose option 1 if you have two X chromosomes, and please choose option 2 if you have one X and one Y chromosome. To determine the former or the latter, please remove the clothing beneath your waist (presumably pants or a skirt) and--assuming you are not blind--inspect the resulting area with your visual system (presumably eyes). If you are still unable to determine which option to choose, please refrain from voting or consult further references. Thank you for helping us create helpful, reflective, demographical statistics! </cheesyvoice> |

| I thought there would be more women doing this stuff. Interesting surprise! Oh, and male by the way.

| I think Steve writes for a techie audience so it attracts more people in that arena. It happens to be mostly male. Personally female and I'm glad that guys are getting into ideas like subjective reality. It's easier to swallow coming from a guy and it doesn't have the language of faith and feelings. It's based on observation and experiments, from his perspective. In other words, he offers proof.

As a chick, I was expecting more chicks. But then again, it's nice to see that there are (apparently) a lot of guys interested in personal development.

| The other day I read an article regarding the use people by gender gave to internet and males tended to spend more time browsing and females answering e-mails. Don't remember where I got it from so I cant back it up or link to it!! I can't even recall the conclusion, so I guess I didn't find it too interesting Well, male seems to still beat female on forum gender... I too am suprised to see this. I believe we should start a poll asking weather people are suprised that most of Steve's audience is male. Cheers, Javier |

| Nah, maybe you're just more likely to admit that you need it. Men aren't the only people with hang-ups about asking for directions.

| I'm definitely female, but I've often thought I function in more of a "male" role in work and family life. For example, my husband picks out my clothes for me because I'm totally clueless about what to wear. I recently heard about this book, I haven't read it, but this sounds interesting to me: Allan and Barbara Pease, authors of "Why Men Don't Listen & Women Can't Read Maps", say that babies start off female in the womb and receive a jolt of male hormones at six to eight weeks. The more testosterone, the more masculine is your brain's "wiring" and the more masculine your view of the world. Val |

| I'm also surprised. I would have guessed there were more women here.
