Hi all, Am mid thirties male interested in doing personal development in a more structured way. It's something i've been doing informally since my early twenties. I gave up alcohol last year which was a big thing for me at the time. At the same time i took up exercise and the results have demonstrated to me how much an individual can achieve by changing one or two things at a time, being committed and having some direction. I found this website as it was continuously popping up in Google searches i was doing such as how to give up chocolate, how to meditate etc. I suppose what i'm looking for here is a bit of help in becoming more personally effective. I feel as though i've been hiding my light under a bushel for too long and this is due to a reluctance to give things a go, low levels of confidence and a large amount of fatalism/cynicism/nihilism. Ideally I would love to feel like a more valuable and integrated self, not sure if that makes any sense. On a personal note i'm not sure what I can bring to the forum, (which as i've stated above is part of why i'm here), but I suppose i've done a good deal of learning around psychology, buddhism and philosophy. Hope to get something out of this and any suggestions based on what i've outlined above would be welcome. Thanks Bluefinger |
