A European in Africa - no I don't have a Vuvuleza :)

Hello everyone,

I just saw there is actually an introduction thread!

Been lurking every now and then when I had time, which hasn't been that often. But now that everything changed in my life I will be spending more time on this forum because it's just full of like minded people.

So who am I and why am I here

Born in Vienna, Austria, moved to South Africa in 1997, currently live with my little boy (5) in Cape Town. That's where they currently host the FIFA soccer world cup which is the reference to the Vuvuleza in the topic which you will only appreciate (or rather hate... ) if you follow the world cup.

Anyway ... my working life has changed dramatically from running around like a maniac trying to build a franchise business and after 2 years realizing that I cannot do this any longer. Ran out of money, business not producing enough at all and yeah, I'm just tired. I'm responsible for my boy and I didn't really do a good job of parenting in the last 2 years.

So what next. Well I decided to turn a challenge into a blessing by bringing what I love most online and thus have a) a wider reach and b) a more convenient way (being more at home for my boy). I'm working with small business owners, solopreneurs and the likes and facilitate entrepreneur focus circles. They are a powerful tool to stay focused and achieve tangible results. I have to learn more and fast how to utilize my skills online and make some money with it. I'm in a lot of debt and am threatened to get kicked out of the house I'm renting. So if you have any ideas what to do best to quickly make a couple bucks, by all means, let me have it

Things like that don't bring me down. It's been bad lately with the mood being despair many a times, but I know what to do and eventually am always able to pull myself out. But the reason why I am now here, introducing myself and wanting to become more part of the community is that I truly want to help people, want to find out what it is they need and finding a way of providing it to them. This is such a great forum, I feel so warm and fuzzy every time I hang around. So it shall be more from now on - specially also since I have to make sure I hang around like minded folks more often to not fall into dark holes so quickly again. I'm on my own here at the end of the world and that sometimes gets very depressing. It's crucial that I then go out and ask the "right" people about what to do

Anyhow ... long story .. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!
