I visualize myself following through on the loose ends, wrapping up songs (this is what I have real trouble with), and being creative and experimental in my approach. I also visualize myself doing this full-time, with the sun coming in through my studio windows and my family nearby. Just visualizing the perfect work-life balance

I try to remove myself from judgements like "good" - what one listener considers a work of genius may have no real effect on another listener! As long as I work hard on something and am satisfied with it, it's "good" by my standards.

Default IM and music

I'm a singer/songwriter, and have used IM and other woo-woo techniques before performances, and to help improve my singing voice and stuff. What I'd like to do now is attract/manifest a good record deal. I haven't had time to read all the posts here, but I will catch up later and contribute a little more to the general conversation.

Thanks for the advide. I'd better try IM with music...and re-read Steve's blog entries on that subject.

Btw, last night, after writing to these forums and reading many threads, I was so enthusiastic I couldn't fall asleep, I was just thinking of a song (a remix) that is my current, urgent project right now. Many nice ideas came to me and so I has to rise from the bed and turn the computer on.

Velvet: I hope the record deal will come to you soon. That's one of my big goals too, but I have to gain more momentum, skills and courage to step on to that ladder.

Ditto. How does "You manifest my record deal, I’ll manifest yours" sound?

(PS – your music sounds good!)

Default Record Deal!

P-Funk:

Thanks--do you have your music online so I can hear it?

Yes--let's get us some record deals!

My affirmation goes something like:

"I am so happy, grateful, and excited to be releasing my music to an appreciative and respectful audience, via a successful indie label. We work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect and integrity, and they provide both financial and artistic support, while I prosper them and garner their label positive reviews and attention."

Hi Velvet - yes I do, please check it out and enjoy! at: www.myspace.com/nathangreen

Right now I'm working on a new project that is a lot jazzier. It was sort of a creative leap for me but I'm finishing the first track now and am very happy with it. Go affirmations!

Your affirmation is interesting - I had limited my own affirmation to *myself*, because that's what I felt I could control, but I see that the whole point of an affirmation is to extend your influence beyond its traditionally accepted limits...thanks for sharing!

P-Funk:

Nice work--very impressive. We should all keep checking in here and posting our progress.

Right now, I need to also visualize a wonderful gig on jan13, and the perfect guitarist (my regular gtrst is out of commission with a broken collar bone).

I am confident something good will happen...

Thanks Velvet, glad to hear you liked it!

Bummer about your guitarrist - I'm sure things will work out!

PM me when it manifests - I actually work in downtown NYC so maybe I'll be able to swing by.

Well... I do "visualize" often. Call it daydreaming.

i'm a musician too -- living in brooklyn, working in manhattan.

at this point, i dont know if i'm all that interested in "making it" or playing full time. my goal is to get a band together and play out and put out some CDs and have a blast and drink a lot and get my ideas out to the people who want and need to hear them.

i'm actually quite pleased to have a day job that pays well and challenges me, because then my artistic endeavors are all for me, you know? i never have to worry about sounding commercial or selling songs or shifting units or anything like that. i can just enjoy writing and singing and performing for their own intrinsic joy.

i have used IM a bit with music -- to open myself up to writing new songs, to bring people into my life to play with.

the other night i had a great experience playing at an open mike i'd never been to and feeling great about my performance and having it be really well received. i had been feeling really insecure about playing on my own for a while, cause i'm more of a singer/writer than a virtuoso guitar player (at least at this point) but the universe provided me with some positive feedback to get me going again, and i sure am going now. apparently i'm not as bad as i thought i was!

i play some rockin groovy stuff (can be heard on my myspace page below) and have been getting into country a lot lately too -- getting dumped as i was several weeks ago will do that to you!

i feel more energized and excited about playing right now than i have for years. it's a great feeling!
