Unhappy Forum activity

I realize that hundreds of people are online at a time on these forums, but why--for some reason--don't the forums feel active? Do people just not post a lot, or does the VBulletin take a while to update new posts? Really, it's been a few days and we only have a few dozen topics in each forum. Maybe I'm just assuming obnoxiously high expectations, but something does feel iffy.

Hmmz, I don't really see a problem, although sure there could be more threads by now.
But then again you'd risk the possibility of losing quality, so getting more nothingness threads, flames, and whatnot.

I personally like it the way it is right now, it shows class, style and respect.
In time (each day) there will be more people here and thus more threads, be patient young padawan..)

interesting
It "feels" quite active for me. It's the quality not the quantity that counts. I have already spotted a lot of quality posters and I am looking forward to reading lots of their insights.

The only disturbing thing is that at 28 I feel like one of the older people here. I really hope that's going to change. I have the opinion I can give advice to 18year olds and tell them things I wish someone had told me before university but I would really like to get advice from someone 20 years older than me who has learned some lessons the hard way that are still ahead of me.

Greetings!

This feels really active to me-- TechnoGuyRob, have you been perusing all the boards? The reason it feels active is the quality, just as you've said, Trustme. Feels much better than sifting through a lot of quantity to find a few bits of quality !

Trustme, well, trust me I'm older than you Now, something to wonder about, yes there are life stages and so on like before and after university as you mention. On the other hand, I feel I can often learn as much from someone much younger than me as one older....

I thought just yesterday that I saw a poll on age of members here..I'll look for it. I wonder also about the spread.

28--great age, huh?

all best,

Feels active to me!

I had hoped that I'd be able to keep up with all the postings, since I got into this forum on the first day it was up. That didn't work out too well. Turns out that reading all the posts in all the forums would be a full-time job. And much as I wish I got paid for it, my company can't afford that quite yet.

So I'm back to having to sort through dozens of threads, hoping that I'll manage to select those that will help me the most, and those in which I can help the most. Alas.

At 25, I also feel old. Maybe the 30's and older crowd could help us out by making a disproportionate contribution to our questions? Or maybe the 18-year-olds will have significantly more wisdom than we give them credit for.

One tip: photoreading..

Oh and I'm 26 and aparently I too am older than most users. Ah well, the quality still is good, so I see no problem.
In fact, the quality is good! with that range of age, that must mean the younger crowd is pretty smart and getting more conscious, which actually is a very welcome happening to me.
Either that, or they just watch and the older folks do all the posting, in which case the future is doomed..

Well, you will have to excuse me. I suppose I am just used to forums where conversations occur at refresh rate (refresh, and there's always already a new insight). It's certainly blossoming nicely though!

You guys are crazy, I'm 19 and I feel so old myself. Starting a business, hanging around with older people, working with clients etc. I feel like I'm growing up waaay too fast.

Oh well. I would like to say in response to ahimel, that if there are "18" year olds here and participating, then chances are they are pretty wise in comparision for their age. That's the way I feel at least, I find I'm a lot more wise/knowledgeable in worldly concepts than most peers. It's pretty hard to talk to other "kids" about mediation and personal development, as it's not really something the majority of youngins are into.

That's why I was so excited to get here that there are A LOT of young people. I had a feeling I would be the youngest one here with a bunch of old timers.

Also I think a thousand users in under a week is pretty impressive. With only 4 days of announcement to boot.

These forums definitely feel active to me. In fact, it has been challenging trying to keep up with all of the new posts.
