Is that really the name of this forum? How do you determine if someone is smart enough to be a member? How about personal development for dumb people? We need help too. Or personal development for shy people. Anyone see irony in the title or is it just me? Okay, too much smartass commentary for a first post. I've been in veterinary practice for 26 years. My hobbies are classic VWs and ultradistance running. I've done over 50 marathons, 20 double marathons (52.4 miles), twelve 24-hour races and one completed 100 mile race. Plus a dozen failed attempts. My veterinary practice is mixed animal. That means I'll look at anything from hamsters to horses (my clinic motto). I forget how long I've been married. My wife is healthy now but has had cancer twice. We have a 17yr old daughter. Right now I'm busy finishing a 1967 VW restoration. The car has been in my garage for three years, most of the time hanging from the ceiling joists. I had little experience with cars so it's been a painful learning experience. I've burned myself several times with the welding torch, I've fractured my ankle when the car fell on it, ground skin off exposing bone with the hand grinder and have had to suture my own wounds several times. I wasn't kidding about 'painful'. I took a sabbatical from running to get this car done before Winter. We've had snow three times already so it's a race. I want this done so I can go back to my 50 mile per week running habit. koneall |

Including "smart people" in the title makes people who are reading feel good about themselves. I think thats about the extent of its relevance to the site in many ways. Cause ya know, to communicate with a smart person over the internet, you write articles such as "Mordern-Day Nazis" and "a fixed income is a suckers bet". Personally I think there are smarter ways to help people with their development but now I'm just venting. Maybe I find it frustrating because I haven't reached that level of personal development yet? Ultra-distance running! Thats impressive! Are you naturally a running machine beast? Or is it all hard slog? |
