Default So this is the Intro section...hello everyone!

I was asked to come and introduce myself when I first signed up, but I'm still new to forums and what not and was easily confused, but hey, I made it. I'm Robert, 21 years young. I stay out in Riverside, Ca, anyone else in So Cal? I think I first came across Steve's site while becoming interested in how people earn money from blogs. His was one of the first search results. Fast forward and I've been trying to read all his material, whether I agree our not, it's stimulating and most of it resonates with me. About me,I first got into personal development and self help books when a friend gave me a copy of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People as a gift. That stuck me hard and I found it empowering to find that there are principles that govern things. I guess I thought about it on a subconscious level but it made me more consciously aware. From there, my next undertaking was to deepen my understanding of principles, what they were exactly, and how to implement them. I found Steve's book the best book I've read so far to deepen my understanding.

Gosh, I hope I'm not writing too much. I don't talk much but I see I can write a lot. I'm an aspiring actor, I left Cal Poly Pomona two years ago to follow my childhood dream after mustering up the courage. I attend Stella Adler LA.I train in Kung fu San soo, currently a green belt. I've got a myspace. I'm here primarily to connect and find support.

Default Heya!

Hello to the both of you. Ditto the sentiments regarding navigation - took me a little while to find the General and Intro section, but then, like most things, it was staring me right in the face: "Oh, you scroll ALL the way to the bottom of the page... I see..."

Anyways, nice to meet you both!

I'm Denis, I'm 25, living in Brisbane in Australia on the East Coast, and I write, make music and films for a living. I tripped onto this site last year while trying to discover a method of becoming an early riser. Much like you, Robert - I've basically been trying to devour as much info from the site ever since. I haven't really read much through the forums, but this year has been crazy for me emotionally and mentally, and though I resonate with a lot of the material that I've read from this site (having always had a bit of a bent for positive affirmation and personal development since reading The Alchemist at 17), I often find it hard to make the processes stick and just wind up feeling sorry for myself all over again.

So this is my attempt to remedy that - hopefully by getting a bit more involved with some like minded people I'll be able to break that wall down and push myself to the next level.

So... Guess I'll see you round then!

Well Debenfro I'd like to welcome you as well. Yeah at first it was confusing, mainly because I was in a rush to post and there were so many things to it. I found that if you can at least remember what it was that your question was about, the thread name or general heading you may find your original question or perhaps just search under your user name. From there you can click on user statistics and find all your posts or threads that you've started.

Cali is great, and I haven't even been everywhere yet. I've probably only been to less than a fourth of it. Right now it's hot, well hot for me, around 90-100 degrees farenheit.

Thanks for the welcome Denis. How is Australia? So you're into the arts as well huh? How do you go about starting to earn a living from it?

Yeah it's all going pretty well down here; bit chilly at the moment but not as cold as down in Sydney and Melbourne, so I can't really complain. Beautiful sunsets right about now. A few years ago I did a short tour through Cali with a band I was in and was very taken by San Francisco (though everyone is, I think). I'm sure you love it there.

Exist in many places at once! I don't make a lot of money out of it, to be honest - at the moment it's good enough if I can just get enough funding to cover my costs. I subsidise what I do by tutoring and lecturing Film at a Uni in my city, and I make corporate documentaries for a financial business in the city... but I haven't really managed to wrangle a way to make a profit yet. That's the next step, me thinks...

What was it that inspired you to pursue acting?

It's just always been my dream since I was a child. I was very much into Jim Carey and Robin Williams. I would often do my impressions of his character from The Mask. After doing some soul searching, I found I'm just a creative person, I like creating things just for the curiosity and the process. Like with cooking, another hobby of mine, I find it so interesting, the whole process, but I find acting fun, interesting and a challenge to completely transform into a character for a play or film. I don't watch many movies but Heath Ledger's performance in the Dark Knight I found really inspiring. It reminds me of what I want to do and why I wanted to in the first place.
