This is my first post ever here, although I've been visiting these forums and Steve's website for a while now. (I've been quite the lurker) I didn't realize it many years ago, but I first stumbled on this site after finding the "Find your life's purpose in 20 minutes" article. I gave it a good read, but for some reason I never took note of the name of the site or anything, so I let it go from my conscious mind for a long time. It wasn't too long though before I was guided back here again, this time on a suggestion from someone who had given me a psychic reading. In specific, she told me to read the "Share your shame" article, which I had a funny reaction to at first, but eventually realized that I could benefit a lot from. I eventually came to recognize that funny feeling as the resistance that happens when you read something, get told, or realize something that hits just a little too close to home to your issues that need to be addressed. But now I'm finally driven not just to read the massive amount of articles here, but also get posting for a number of reasons. Some of them I wont bore you with here as this is just an intro thread (and some things I'd like to say are best kept to their own thread), but rest assured I got plenty of issues which the general community here could probably have fun commenting on. A couple things that I can say though that pushed me to start posting are that darn status message you get if you signed up and haven't posted yet (very clever Steve Root: under-active (-75%) Sacral: open (19%) Navel: under-active (-69%) Heart: open (13%) Throat: open (50%) Third Eye: open (6%) Crown: under-active (-13%) I had only briefly thought about doing Chakra work in the past, as it was still kind of a "new agey" concept to me. I figured if I would ever do anything with it, I'd try the Root chakra first as it made the most sense to start there, and I felt it needed the most work. Wow, was my intuition dead on. I normally take online tests like this with a grain of salt, but the description of the Root chakra accurately fits with what I've been feeling for a while. I also noticed that in the original thread in the Spirituality section, that nobody had scored a -75% in any category whatsoever, so maybe it is time to ask for help! I figure if I'm gonna ask for help and be openly concerned about something like this, I'm in the right place. Other blurbs about me: I picked up an electric guitar about a year ago and have been practicing rock/metal style of music since. I also make Anime Music Videos and have recently won an award for one (maybe this'll be posted for your viewing pleasure one day). Otherwise, I'm still soul searching, trying and getting closer everyday to figuring out what I want and what makes me happy. I also tend to type super-long story posts, as you can see. So take care for now, see you in another thread! And once again, hello! |

Hi Digital Jack, Yes root chakra is a great place to start. It will give you a really good grounding for all future development. If you do a search on Erin's blog you will find a great chakra clearing exercise that can be done regularly to clean out 'gunk' from your chakras. Welcome to the boards. |

@ Holistic Star: Ill be sure to search that out! I've been on Erin's blog a few times, perhaps finding that article once, but haven't read it thoroughly. It was easy to pass that one over with so many other interesting articles. @ cacheborn: Maybe start a band? One that awakens people sleeping through life with our epic rock! |
