Red face New here, saying hi

Came across this site today while googling depression. The post I read was very touching and could be my story, so I decided to register and give this site a try. I am not much into all the socializing websites, but hope that maybe I can make some contacts here, maybe have something to share with someone that can make a difference to them etc.
I don't have a career, just a crappy job, but my passion is music. I play the violin, sadly mostly alone. Haven't found a niche for myself in the world of music, but try to be grateful for the fact I have something that I love this much.
I suffer from depression, currently they are calling it dysthymia, double depression. I don't really make friends easily. In the past have been diagnosed with avoidant personality disorder, was told I had Asperger's Syndrome, on and on.
I am 52 and like many in my age group, feel that my smarts are slipping (), but in my younger years was told my IQ was 150.
Now I am off to peruse the forums

Nice to meet you! Don't let the doctors define you with labels they have created in board rooms to disempower us! Happiness is here and alive and available to all who seek it! Bless!

Hello fellow violinist!
I'm glad to find another one of us floating around here.
