Default How My Parents Messed Me Up

Ok, so did my parents mess me up? Sure, they gave me some challenges to overcome, but everyone gets obstacles free with their life!

Actually, I like my folks. My dad gave me my love of sci-fi by he and my mother ignoring my love of reading and refusing to buy childrens' books. I had to resort to reading Issac Asimov and Theodore Sturgeon as a kid to satisfy my burning desire to read. It was all that was in the house.

I like provocative ideas. I like melodious windchimes. I like stone-covered streams under shady-leafed trees. I am a CMT studying for my Personal Trainer Certification.

Hmmmm.......'nuf about me!

Yes they did, and no they didn't. But either way, it's your life now, what are you going to do with it?

Welcome to the forums Julee. It's a crazy ride here, I hope you enjoy it.

Your parents sound alright. If I ever (gods forbid) have children, they will have read War and Peace by age ten.

Parthon -- thanks for the welcome. A crazy ride sounds like fun!

The David -- Yes, my folks are pretty cool. We lived in suburbia when I was growing up where everyone has an angular lawn and my dad put in this sort of 'swoosh' lawn. We also were the only ones with a small observatory in the back yard. It did cause me to want to be like everybody else for a while, but I got over it. Yes! Have your children read. That's great of you.
