Default Hello from England :) lets make 2009 a great one!!!!

Hi there

This is a new experience for me and I am really hoping that I am going to learn about myself and become a better person.

I found Steves website after searching the net for information on overcoming negative thinking, something I really struggle with and which runs in the family
I have decided I dont want to live my life in fear so I am really hoping I can overcome this obstacle sooner rather then later I hope I dont sound to glum.....
I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all and to share ideas...
I'm really happy to off found this website

Thanks for posting that! I'm in the process of learning to do this myself.

It helps for me to keep books on positive thinking within easy access of the dining room table, near my computer, and on my nightstand next to my bed. I also have put some good mp3s on my player to listen to when I'm knitting or washing the dishes, so my idle thoughts can be impressed with positivity.

Thank you for the link....I have had a look and it seems that most people are more advanced then I am. The problem I have is that my emotional link to any thoughts I have overpower any affirmations/positive thinking. My heart starts thumping and go back to negative thinking, its quite frustrating. I am a happy person by nature but I cope with things when they are going well...controlling thoughts and emotions I cant seem to do....Is there anything you can do that is not verbal, like actions/sounds???

Can you manage your thoughts?

Have a nice day! : )

Sometimes. I'm getting better at it I think.

I like using my "negative affirmations" technique because then I can say all the negative things I want and it doesn't feel so forced to me. The trick is that then when I have identified what I desire to move into visualization.

So today I was thinking about how "I don't like housework" and then I began to ask myself "What would my life look like if I enjoyed housework?" and I got a lot done and managed to keep a pleasant outlook.
