landmark and my thought

Hi I came across this site as I was searching for problems with the Landmark Forum, is it right wrong if people didn't like it why etc. I attended :andmark for 1 day and a quarter however did not like the sales pitch and alot of other stuff. I was introduced by an aquaintance who has since got mightly pissed off that I left!!! Yet I explained I didn't feel like I could cope. My reason and Landmark dont like reasons as they are seen as excuses well was the fact I have been a s#@*! load of stuff in the last year the suicide of my mother seperation and gee so so so so so much more. Landmark determine this as "your story" And we all have one to step out of it clean slate etc In my personal experience I felt that I was in some way forced to contact family etc, and for this particular time in my life that would not be right of me or fair! Not only on myself but them to (my family) so I left. I gained some good insight however but I am one to question and I am a big believer that not one thing is right but many and you just have to take on board which acrews you suits you supports you and helps you. This is where I see it failed.
I was contacted by a forum leader who said to me " Well if you dont come back immediatly you will not understand tommorow and the programme." I said well that in fact is incorrect and does not support the programme you are running as that is a presumption as if you are holding a crystal ball and Lanmark is not about that. He seemed quite antsy! We will give you your money back and treated me as if well stuff you we are right your wrong! Yet as in Landmark I did not take it personally rather could see a so called forum leader contradicting the Landmark way. i asked perhaps enrol me into the next course as I felt unsettled with my issues, he's response No we will just give you the money back. My experience left me to feel that Landmark wished me to give everything up to be this whole true being! When in fact that would be a lie to me as what is whole and right when we forever change. I'm glad I went but glad I left it just wasn't for me. There is some good practicality in it but like most personal development things, it is all pretty much common knowledge. I did feel that those highly involved with Landmark had or seemed to have blinkers on to any other way! For me in my opinion that's black and white so what about they grey in between.

I'm sorry you didn't have a great experience with Landmark Education, because it's one of the most powerful tools I've ever gained to be in love with my life.

I'm glad you got your money back with no problem. You're right; it's not for everyone. It really takes a certain boldness to try on the stuff they present to you in the seminars, and not everyone is willing to do that, even for a weekend. Although you are free to go back to your ordinary way of thinking after the weekend seminar is over, it can be extremely confronting to let go of it for the couple of days it takes to *get* the Landmark techniques. If you're not willing, it just won't work, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with you if you're not willing.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, and my thoughts are with you. That's rough.
