Default Intro and a small request

Hey all. I love the forums here. I've been a regular at the Tony Robbins forums for quite some time and while they are great I've always longed for a community that was a little more positive, a little more "intellectual" and little less inclined to debate the political issue or celeb scandal of the day. I think I've found it!

For more on me, you can check out my profile at Jon Bischke @ Zaadz. Also, as you can tell by my sig I run a company called LearnOutLoud which is all about improving peoples' lives through audio learning. Audio learning has been one of the biggest factors in my self-development journey and so I started the site in an effort to share this with as many people as possible. Currently we have over 100,000 people a month coming to the site so we're offer to a decent start.

Next year I'm launching a new business with a simple mission: Revolutionize Education. Education is an industry that has seen way too little innovation and it's about time we realize that nothing is more important to the future of our success and the success of generations to come. I hope I don't sound preachy here but it's a really important subject to me. If anyone is interested in hearing more about what we're up to or getting involved, please feel free to e-mail me at jon at learnoutloud dot com. I'd love to dialogue with ya!

One last thing...I'd love to see a comments & suggestions forum here on the site. Most forums have this as a way for the community to give feedback, notify the operators of bugs, etc. I was surprised this forum didn't have that.

Otherwise though this is a great community and I'm looking forward to getting to know many of you online and offline. Here's to an incredible 2007 and beyond!

Welcome, Jon! I was referred to the learnoutloud website a few months ago, I can't remember by whom -- were you shopping for equity investment last year? Very fun site, and I wish you great success with it.

We have an associate who is a very well-known high-tech entrepreneur and is very interested in a revolution in education. He has outlined some radical ideas that I have found very inspiring and do-able, and it might be worthwhile to introduce you to each other. I see you're in Santa Monica (me, too) and this fellow is in the Palisades.

Let me know if you'd be interested in talking to him; I have a strong feeling you two would enjoy speaking.

Angela

Hi Angela! That's awesome that you've heard of LearnOutLoud before. I'm running into more people these days who are saying that which is a good thing right?!

I'd love to connect with your friend (and you as well since we're in the same city!). Drop me a line at jon at learnoutloud dot com and we'll work out the details.

I concur. The current education system is in dire need of a revolution, or, at least, a re-evaluation. I wish you success with your endeavours in this field. Oh, and welcome to the community! Looks like you don't have to put up with Tony Robbins' website flash intro any longer.

Currently we use the General & Introductions board/forum for the discussion of suggestions, feedback, bugs, etc, even if such things are not covered in the board description.

Alternatively, if you would like to contact the administrator(s) of the forum directly, you can do so using the forum contact form. If you wish to contact Steve (Pavlina) directly, you can do so using the contact form found on his website. Additionally, you can contact Erin (Pavlina), Steve's wife, using the contact form on her website.

That said, I think the discription of the General & Introductions board ("General discussion forum to introduce yourself and make new friends") is misleaing when it comes to describing the "general" part of the board and could use some revision (much like the education system, eh? ). As I generally make it a habit to pester Steve with things like this, I'll put it on my (somewhat lengthy) 'forum to-do list' and contact Steve about it in the near future (that is if Steve doesn't read this and respond to this thread... *hint hint* Steve ).

Just wanted to add some information that I came across that was posted a while ago (I remember reading it, I just completely forgot about it when I made my above post).

It's from the thread, Two topics -- new post bug report and need forum tech forum:

It's only my list to track it down when I do the next batch of forum updates.

In 2007 Erin and I plan to add some staff, since this website is quickly growing beyond our capacity to personally manage. There are lots of things I'd like to add, fix, or improve but lack the time to do it.
That's probably all the info I have on the topic (at least that I know of), so I hope that tides you over.
