Default What made you sign up for this forum?

It is really uncommon for me to sign up for a forum. Well, besides tech and similar fora where you ask one or two questions and then leave permanently.

What made you choose this forum to sign up to? Do you sign up often for things, or is this one of your precious few fora you visit?

I've been reading Steve's blog on and off for about a year now, and it is one of the few resources I currently have that truly rings true to me and helps me showing in how I can develop myself and how I am not alone in this kind of struggle (Personal development, and being smart (it still feels weird to call myself smart though :P)).Two other important sources for me are myself and my brother.

However, that was not enough for me to make the decision to join. I was perfectly happy to read an entry, contemplate it and try to incorporate some of the lessons in my own life. The shocking recognition came in the way where I finally found more of Steve's spiritual side, and specifically Erin's take on things spiritually. Sofar I haven't met a "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ factor" while reading those kinds of topics the last 2 days. Since that never happened to me sofar with any spiritual resource that has more than just a few articles, it made me all tingly inside of recognition. By the way what I call a "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ factor" is when I read something and my intuition (or what I think is my intuition) is making a major upheaval inside me of not accepting it. The "no way that's true!" feeling. This ofcourse doesn't mean that it isn't true, just that it either really isn't true or that I am not ready to make that part of my life.

It's exactly the connection between my, well, higher intelligence and my spiritual side that was and is lacking. I have been developing both in my life too separately. Or rather, I always have had a great tension between my rational thinking and my strong intuition towards how the basics of the spiritual things work. I have had it working in together in various stages of my life, but I always lost it later on. Seeing a couple combine these two aspects as well is a breath of fresh air to me. For the more general self development just reading and trying to apply seemed enough for me. My spiritual side needs more active communication to grow though. The possibilities and most of all mindset here to let it work together is what makes this place extra special to me.

Besides all this jabber, this place is the first thing on spiritual development that rings true to me in years. Not surprisingly, I think that's what I am going to focus most on first.

So... How about you? what made you join this forum?

Welcome!!!

I can relate a lot to your post.

I am an active member in one other forum. I know many of the posters (all women who do what I do for a living or used to do what I do) in person as we meet once a year. I also live close to many of them, so they are true friends, now, and have been for over five years.

So I don't usually sign up for forums but this one struck a chord with me because I was sooooooo happy to see like-minded people. I can talk here and not be called "crazy" or that I "think too much." You can talk about anything in a genuine manner from ghosts to IM to, like you said, technical and business and "more practical" matters.

It's a great place.
