Plant and Animals

Hi Steve,

I´ve been reading your website for some time now and have recommended it to several people as well. I´ve made significant changes in my life over the last year mostly inspired by your articles on courage and levels of consciousness. Thank you very much for the inspiration and guidance.

There´s one aspect that I would like to bring up regarding diet. I practice yoga, meditation and I suppose I´m rather sensitive when it comes to feeling the energy of my own body. However, I eat meat. I love flowers and have seen the effect that love has on my orchids and especially on my mother´s orchids. So, my point is that I feel plants to be just as holy and sacred a life form as any other animal. Except that maybe we don´t identify with them as much because they haven´t got eyes and blood.

To me, eating is a wonderful means of communion with all that we eat and a moment to be thankful for everything that has given up their lives to keep us alive, whether it be an animal or a plant. I don´t think it´s so much about what we eat but much more about the attitude that we have towards what we eat.
