Hello, I'm Ágata from Portugal but online I use the nickname Dunyazade. I'm interested in acquiring long-term self discipline (from time to time I'm able, for example, to write 4 hours/daily before going to work; or to workout consistently 5 week days for 1 year) - but these changes never stay, you know? It will be 4 years in November that I made a drastic change in my dietary habits (from which I'll Never Go Back!) which also made me loose lots of weight. I'm no longer obese. But loosing weight was not my primary goal for that change - and maybe that made it more permanent. However I always struggle with the sames issues: - I want to write several hours a day; - and to exercice 1 hour daily But I never have consestincy(sp?) and self-discipline. There other goals that I would like to accomplish: - to knitt everyday - to give up TV permanently - to read everyday - to spen less time on the PC. I know I can make permanet changes in my life - so why can't I do these ones as well? Anyway, thats why I signed up but will probably spend most of my time here reading everyone else's experinces. You can do it all. My question to you is, Why do you want these things? A suggestion change your statements to present tense. Example- I write for an hour daily

I've only just signed-up and was about to post a 'hi' when I saw yours. Equally, well done on your changes so far. I think the important things are: 1. Keep it fun: can you make your changes into games? - this has fascinated me in some writing I've been doing recently that might help you as researching it has helped me? 2. Don't beat yourself up - you've done amazingly: a lot more than a lot of people can ever hope for 3. With how well you've done, have you reset your vision and goals? Why not aim for a marathon or a novel to keep to your commitments? Look forward to seeing you on the forums Take care Si
