Hey Everyone. Well this is my first time on this forum, And i have a issue with regards to paperless billing!!!! Is anyone here paperless?? I wonder, A little while ago i applied for credit online. I recieved a letter a week later asking me to send documetation off, So i printed bank statements utility bills out and sent them off, 2 weeks later the documentation came back telling me that they cannot accept online statements of any kind!! I have been looking into this over the last week and have noticed that no-one actually accepts online printed statements and that they have to be the original documentation. My issue is what is the point of being paperless when the original documetation is needed for ID puposes!!!! My bank and bill companies charge me for a reprint of my statements after they where the ones that are constintly nagging to go paperless, Any how because of this issue i have now gone back to being sent paper billing through the post, My bank asked me why? I replied if you can garuntee me that you won't charge me when i need the original documentation then i will be more than happy to go paperless. The banks reply was "we cant do that" my reply was well then paper it is for me then. |

You don't say where you are. In the UK, most banks offer free prints of any statements you later need if you opt for paperless. If your bank doesn't, then you can get as many statements as you want from them, up to the last six years, under the Data Protection Act, for a total £10 - that's for all accounts you hold with them.
