Age of members?

Judging by the introductions so far, it appears that we have a pretty young crowd here. Most in their 20's?

Me thinks I'm probably the oldest one here at 45. (But I'm young at heart...and my kid's friends have always said I'm "the cool mom" ;) cuz I'm online all day and night, chatting with friends and posting to forums.)

How old is everyone else?

Dave Kaminski 11-03-2006 12:53 PM

Haha I can already tell my boards are going to have some deep conversations .::read-sarcasm::
You're right about the age being around twenty so far. I'm 19 and I've seen a lot of people are the same range-ish.

Patricia 11-03-2006 12:59 PM

I'm 34. :)

drgrudge 11-03-2006 01:18 PM

I'm 22 now.

I feel that this board will have a "diverse" members once it's officially launched.

Sadhana 11-03-2006 01:37 PM

20. And here's some fillter because vBulletin's complaining about how I haven't said enough.

Savage 11-03-2006 01:38 PM

I'd expect most of the audience will be in their 20s and 30s, with more 20s than 30s; most mods fall into that range too. That age range has been typical of the blog audience, although there are plenty of senior readers too. I think the younger crowd is the age group that's most interested in reading blogs. It's also an age range where people begin getting interested in personal development.

I'm 35, which is actually pretty young to working in this field. Most of the popular writers and speakers in the field are in their 50s and beyond.

Chris 11-03-2006 01:47 PM

I'm 23 (24 in a few weeks)

Jill 11-03-2006 02:16 PM

Guess I'm a late bloomer! You'd never had caught me here in my 20's! :p

Adam 11-03-2006 02:21 PM

As odd as this sounds, since I'm usually not considered 'normal,' it looks like I'm the stereotypical member here, being 26 years old.

Of course, this is one group that I'm proud to be a 'normal' member of... ;) That's not something that I can say about most other groups.

Scott 11-03-2006 06:48 PM

21. (That's 147 in doggie years.)

Jim 11-03-2006 06:59 PM

I'm 28 and sometimes I feel like the old one in a lot of forums.

Trina 11-03-2006 07:13 PM

Same here! I am 28, and most of my time is spent on the military wives forum I run. Most military wives that come to message boards looking for information and support are pretty young. So, I am used to being older than most members, although I don't *feel* older. ;)

Stu 11-03-2006 07:15 PM

21, maybe we should set a poll up?

andrew 11-03-2006 07:23 PM

I'm 19, and I think it's really great to have other people my age interested in this. I'm just grateful to have all these resources available to me, free and instantly at my age.

pi11 11-03-2006 07:39 PM

my physical age

Wow I suppose I am one of the older ones. I am 26. But that is just my physical age, not the mental age. ;)

Is it 11, like in your username? XD

Jamie Wilson 11-03-2006 08:10 PM

Now I feel old, I'm 25 and for some reason I thought I'd be one of the youngest... ah, how much farther along I'd be if I had been interested in this when I was 19 instead of playing snood in my dorm room...

pi11 11-03-2006 08:26 PM

age of minority

JohnnyJimJams 11-03-2006 08:49 PM

31 years young.

Mentally and spiritually I'm running at about 15 though :D

ahhh, but my wisdom is that of an ancient ninja master.

Wow! When I started using computers back when BBSes ruled the world (or, at least, Phoenix) I was something like 15 and always the youngest online. Now I feel like an old-timer at 30! I'm going to have to go think about that...

Nah, you're just a baby.

Imagine the experience....

Eric,
Imagine the experience that you have with computers. You are one of the very few people in the world who can say something like "I have been involved with computers for 50% of my life".

Well, I've been using computers since I was 10..."I have been involved with computers for 50% of my life"? :p

pi11 11-04-2006 01:43 AM

Welcome to the select over-50% group! I started at age 12. I am 26 now. ;)

I was merely trying to put a positive spin. I think it is amazing to be older physically, mentally and spiritually. Socially, we are told to be too hard on ourselves about our age. It isn't something to be shy about!

MSC2471 11-04-2006 05:23 AM

I'm 35, I'll be 36 early next year. We have a great group of people in the forums so far, I look forward to discovering more about your lives, goals and dreams in the coming days/weeks/months and years...

Matt

Can I be the first to be 27? Can I, can I? Pretty please with sugar on top?

Yes, 27 going on 5.

Waiman 11-04-2006 05:57 AM

Well I sure feel young being only 16 (17 in a couple of weeks), I'd love to see more people in this age bracket on these forums (doesn't look like it yet though).

thadroe 11-04-2006 07:20 AM

I am 34...going on 20. I never intend to feel old. :)

Thad

elainevdw 11-04-2006 07:23 AM

Just turned 24... Nov. 2 was my birthday!

Kindred 11-04-2006 07:56 AM

I turned 16 a month ago. I'm guessing I'm on an extreme side of the age group spectrum here.
