Not sure where to post this but can anyone give me more info about the Warrior and other types I hear about on here? Are there a certain number of types? And how do you know which you are? How is this concept helpful in PD? I see bits and pieces about it, but I haven't seen the explanation of what exactly it is or how to utilize the information. Thanks! |

I don't know the names of the other types, but I think there are four. I've seen Angela post to Rose about Rose being a Warrior, but I don't know if that is connected to these types I've also heard about. Sorry I can't be less vague! I was going to ask Angela or Rose in a PM, but I also thought that other people might want to learn more about this (if it is in fact a "thing") so that's why I put it out publicly, albeit very sloppily Last edited by {aspiring_to_clarity}; 07-01-2008 at 05:01 PM.

That's a good question Aspiring, I've been curious too for a while about the other types. Two of the other archetypes I've heard to describe people and their life's mission: Angels, and Sorceress/The Crone. I know I'm definitely not a warrior type. I've been told I'm more of an angel type, we'll see. I love the idea of supporting warriors who go and do the dirty fighting Last edited by seeker5; 07-01-2008 at 04:56 PM. |

Aspiring, I don't know anything about these types I don't know why exactly Angela calls me a warrior, I guess that's because she sees me as fighting my way through life? The reason I call myself a warrior is because of world of warcraft If someone knows about those archetypes, I'd be very curious about it. (and rogues are mean guys who steal what you have in your pocket and then stab you in the back! Dan, no, really! |

You know, there are a lot of archetypes that are essential parts of our humanity, that people have recognized over the centuries. Jung wrote about archetypes; you'll see them in things like the Tarot and in movies and music; mystics and sages have referred to the archetypal aspects within us, and there is no limit to them. We are infinite beings, and since we're all in this together, I think it's fun to play with these aspects. When I tune into my intuition, I often see a predominate aspect of a person, or a "personage" or archetype that represents the energy or lesson that is present. What I "feel" from Rose is Warrior, and what I feel from Seeker is Angel, and what I feel for myself currently is Sorceress/Crone. These aspects don't limit who we are, and they are not meant to define the person. They are symbols of recognition, to help me enliven and maximize the fun of personal growth. I am resonating more and more with my intuition lately. The Warrior called Rose is a symbol in my life for tenacity and power, the dynamic willingness to push through difficult fire and ice, that I want to generate for myself and for the world. The Angel is the flowing message of love, the courageous determination to tap into the heavenly message of unity and make it available to humanity that is Seeker, and that I want to generate for myself and for the world. Dan, that is absolutely amazing: for me, you are the Rogue, the passionate, powerful, infinite Bull of Truth, that I also want to generate for myself and for the world. How you make me laugh by distinguishing that you are the Rogue! I love that. So, Aspiring, what archetype can you recognize in yourself? Would you like us to share what aspect you represent for us? I would like to hear your impression first, though, unsullied by our impressions. |

| I believe I mixed up a four type list I saw somewhere (of which Warrior was one type I believe) with what Angela was saying about you. I can totally see you as a Warrior and thought she was speaking from a specific type list that had some perameters, etc. I can see now above (Angela's post) that it's not a specific list, however in other threads there was a four part list that I can't find now which may have been Jungian...I think it may have been in something cdn posted (king, warrior, something else...). Man am I articulate today or what?! I also remembered seeker5 you mentioning Angela seeing you as Angel and I must have conflated the earlier threads and these passing mentions of Warrior, Angel, etc. I agree that Dan is a Rogue...NICE Last edited by {aspiring_to_clarity}; 07-01-2008 at 05:48 PM. |

Ok, so I haven't gone away for too long, but the thing that keeps coming to me is Seeker/Student/Wanderer. Just thought I'd put it out there...I can't seem to think of anything else that seems like my predominate archetype??? (Maybe I'm just too distracted to focus right now...because these other types seem to fit perfectly with the person...I can't imagine what would fit perfectly for me)

You are always trying to figure things out, and there is a big part of you that recognizes that life is a mystery that you will never be able to explain. Still, the fun of what you are doing now (you might not actually call it "fun", but I can see that you are having fun) is creating a reality in which apparently conflicting truths frustrate and challenge you. You are a scholar who is committed to delving deeply into your inner truth, and at the same time you find yourself profoundly influenced by external circumstances -- particularly the thoughts, actions, and words of others. How do you stand as a tower of love in the universe, feeling purposeful and powerful and being what you want to be for yourself and for others? How do you be Flow and not Compromise? If you can nail things down to the explainable, will you be able to be present to the Infinite? How do you be bountiful love and abundance and still be safe and grounded? These are all the questions of the Hierophant. How does that resonate for you?

| Angela, that's the first time I heard that term used, so I googled. What I found in googling is different from my impression of it from what you've written about it. The Hierophant Tarot Card The Hierophant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Hierophant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Those seem to describe a hierophant as someone who follows religious tradition, a high religious figure, not what you seem to describe Aspiring as being.... |

It's an OMG moment because I just stepped away from my desk and was thinking about how much I want to figure things out and how it is impossible and how to reconcile that and be available to life rather than hiding from the complexity of it all. The part about being profoundly influenced by my environment hits a little too close to home. The tug of war between "security" and what I want to be for the world... Sorry to babble, but I was just struck with how pertinent it is. And yet, for once I don't want to cry...

Yeah, I think Rose and Seeker had similar experiences, that what I see as their Warrior and Angels selves doesn't necessarily match what Wikipedia or other preconceived notion of an archetype. Like symbols in a dream, you'll get much more richness and value from looking courageously for your inner truth, and allowing yourself to receive the gift of inspiration -- breathing life into your life. There may be books or websites that trigger inspiration, but Enlivenment is something you generate for yourself. |

Neat, everybody get in here and find out what archetype you are! I don't really feel like I have a gift to see into people like that, but maybe we can help each other find some neat things to look into more? This does seem kinda fun to look at. |

I think I'm not good at seeing such things in others either, but Angela is awesome at it! I didn't agree with your Nurturer, Aspiring. Of course you are nurturing and adorable, you could be an Angel. But you're a bit different from an Angel, because of all these questions you ask and all these things you're permanently trying to figure out. Not that Seeker is not curious, but it's not quite the same.

| I just re-read your post and had to bring this out. This is totally you. That's how I see you, headlong, down-and-dirty, fighting it out (but surprisingly in the most calm and generous way, with grace).

| It just a feeling of peace I get from you. I don't know the whole definition of the Angel archetype that you got from Angela, but to me it's a position of community and bringing-together which I feel really strongly from you. A superior support and encouragement. It's kind of odd, because in your description of yourself somewhere on here (why, oh why can I not remember where I've seen things lately?!) it seemed like you would test as a very different type, yet I get a gentility and peace from you. Does that make sense? |

OK, if any, then it's about self-acceptance or god forbid, loving yourself(is that permitted? Often I'm finding myself thinking about decisions in terms of what other people would think of me or which decision would be more prestigious, or which one would make me more important, more needed, more essential, not which would be more closer to my selfest self. I just found myself thinking that uhm, maybe I'd be a Nurturer, maybe I'd be an Angel, maybe... be something that is seen a valuable? I don't know really, maybe they're all equally valuable. I don't want to be of less value than others.

| I think that you are elegant despite the ooze. You know, the two are not mutually exclusive. Maybe you equate elegant with being a dainty, demure little girl wearing a gown or etc, but to me elegant is strength and suppleness of which you have heaps.

Yeah, I wouldn't have seen myself this way before, I wouldn't have described myself this way before, but I think I'm more accepting of it now. Last edited by seeker5; 07-02-2008 at 04:36 PM.
