| Hi makaya, welcome to the forums! Do they enjoy their day care? There are many good day care programs out there, and some that are not so good. The main thing is to take your daughter to a place where you know she'll feel loved. Other alternatives might be care by a friend or relative, or taking your daughter to work, or seeing if you can work from home.

| It's a myth that children do worse in daycare. But you must be selective and careful. They learn to socialise with others sooner. They are more tolerant. The are smarter and learn to speak sooner. Learn to be good citizens and share their toys. Being at home with mom is nice but isolating. As long as you don't neglect your research and monitoring of the center, they should have an outstanding good time there. Jennifer |

| I definitely agree with both of the other posters. In our case, my wife took our son along with her to several day cares and a big part of the decision was his reaction to the environment. In some cases, his reaction was very cautious and muted. In other cases, as with the one he's at now, he took off and joined right in with the other kids to the point where my wife could hardly force him to leave.

| I attended daycare when I was younger. It was a great place and a fantastic experience. As long as you check out the daycare places before signing up so that you can find one where your children feel comfortable, I'd recommend it - it's a good way for children to learn social skills and independence.
