Default Hi, my name is Michael, and it has been...

...21 years since I was born. And eleven months, and a handful of days, depending on how you calculate the month-to-day conversion.

I haven't participated in a forum in a long time and I figured... oh, why not. A little about me. The first thing to know about me is that my central identity is a philosopher, and that does not appear to be changing anytime soon. I love to talk (and talk) and discuss things, but I don't get that opportunity very often in the physical world, so I do a lot of discourse on my journal.

General stats... I'm a senior undergraduate at the University of Washington, in the Informatics program. My career goals are currently "not applicable"; I am looking to pursue a master's degree in some program with an intersection between education and technology, the two fields of greatest interest to me and my purpose.

Also, generally speaking, you can probably expect me to miss any references to older posts. I have only been reading Steve's blog for no more than about six months, but I've come to enjoy it.

I maintain a LiveJournal, primarily to remain in contact with high school friends, but (almost) all of my best writing has been posted there. The links below are all complete shameless self-promotion. I don't write academic papers, meaning that I generally don't cite sources, because my brain doesn't quite work that way. I try to cite when I can, but you should assume anything and everything I say is prefaced with the disclaimer that it's not necessarily original, and I don't really care. I am, on the other hand, interested if you find something that's similar from an older source, if for no better reason than curiosity.

So, hi!
