Hello from cold Russia

Hi guys. My name is Pavel Alasheev (pronounced 'Pah-vel). I live in Samara, a large city in central Russia. I have always been interested in personal growth and i am a big fan of Steve's writing. I believe he is by far the best writer in this field.

I've been to US three times, around 2 years in total and I've really enjoyed it. Although our governments are not on good terms, i believe there's a lot for us to learn from each other.

I am 21 and i'm in my senior year in college, majoring in computer security (yeah i am supposed to be an evil russian hacker ). I also work full-time as a web developer for an american company.

and some random facts about myself:
- went vegetarian 6 months ago
- haven't watched TV for 3 or 4 years
- used to be a video game addict (counter-strike), but now on a 30-day trial to quitting it cold turkey. i also plan to replace it with airsoft, should be better for my health.
- i have a passion for music. In my spare time I play guitar, compose songs and dream of becoming a rock star.

Heh, my family used to have a Lada Samara. A wonderfully simple car that cost next to nothing and never gave us any trouble.

I'm guessing it was made in your home town, or somewhere in the region?

Wow that's cool. Do they sell it in Iceland? I never knew they sold it so far to the west. Yeah it's produced in a suburb of Samara.

Yeah, I think they still sell it here. But they were more popular in the '90s, plenty of Niva 4x4s, Safirs and Samaras about back then, but very few of them still in use. I used to be a big fan of the black vinyl interiors in Nivas and Safirs
